Walk a Mile in my Shoes

Despite the title of this post, it is not going to be about my life. It is literally about my favorite shoes that I think everybody should invest in. They range from winter boots to summer flip flops.

Jack Rogers: I was lucky enough to find a pair of these exact Jacks at my local Bloomingdales outlet on their opening day! I was in shopping shock because after all the sales and promotions they were having the shoes came out to be around twenty-five dollars. I wear them to complete any summery outfit to give it that little extra kick.

Hunter Boots: These are my go to boots when it's rainy, snowy, or just when I'm in the Hunter mood. They are classic, well made, sturdy boots that would be a great addition to any shoe collection. The dark olive color gives the classic look I go for in these boots.

Sperry Topsiders: I love love love my sperrys to death. They have been worn more than any other shoe in my collection. They go with virtually anything and are super comfortable. Most people are scared to wear them in the rain, but I wear mine rain or shine and they have held up for a little over a year and are still going strong!

Bean Boots: These are classic Llbean Hunting boots. They have been around since the dawn of time and are still made proudly in Maine. I do not own my own pair, but I am lucky enough to have a mom with the same shoe size as me and I steal hers often. She got hers for Christmas when she was 18. These shoes are obviously awesome since they have lasted for 25 years.

Rope

Boat Rope
Lately I have been searching the world wide web for boat rope. One might ask, why would a teenage girl living no where near water need boat rope? Well rope be very versatile. You could buy an expensive sailor bracelet or belt online, or you could buy some rope and make it yourself! With a little help from youtube tutorials, I can learn how to tie cute knots and make these products!

Looks to Love

Every season Abercrombie and Fitch comes out with their 'A&F Looks'. I always love to look at them and get inspiration for fashion. Abercrombie is not my favorite store, but I do enjoy the style they go for. I would love Abercrombie if most of their items did not have huge logos on them. Abercrombie kids, Hollister, and Gilly Hicks also does a look book like this, but most of the time the model is only wearing a bathing suite (that is not an outfit). Abercrombie would be my favorite out of all their brands. Anyway, here are my six favorite outfits from the fifteen they had.

My 2012 Shopping List

A sweater with patches
Sweater: I am searching for a sweater with patches on the elbows. It can come in any shape or size, but when the perfect sweater finds me, I'll know it. It does not have to be anything expensive, just a sweater that will bring me throughout the cold winter.

Hunter Boots: Olive Green
Hunters: I got a pair for Christmas, but I was not thrilled with the color or the gloss. I figured if someone was going to spend that much money on the boots, I wanted the ones I had in mind. I and going to buy the dark olive green boots with no gloss. I cannot wait to wear these boots for the rest of my life.

Cheetah Flats
Cheetah Flats: I saw one of my friends wearing these in the beginning of this year. I have seen this is many style blogs (and they go great with stripes). I found a pair that looked perfect on the computer screen, but when they were actually on my feet, I did not like them as much. I am not going to bash the brand or even mention the brand. But the shoes had little to no support and were uncomfortable. I am on the hunt for the perfect cheetah flat.

My Newly Favorite Things

These are all the things that I tried and loved in the past month. I either recieved these gift for Christmas, or bought them with my own money.

Madden Girl Boots, by Steve Madden
Madden Girl Boots: I recieved these boots for Christmas and have been attached to them ever since. They are the classic riding boots I have been searching for. The red zipper adds a splash of detailing to the boot.

Conair 1 inch Curling Wand
Conair Curling Wand: I have heard wonderful reviews on this product from various beauty gurus on youtube. I then tried it at my friends house and loved it. It gave me boucy curls that lasted the whole night. I slept on the curls and when I woke up they looked as good as the night before. This is an accomplishment for my stick straight hair. I might have burned myself a lot while using it, but it was well worth it. Luckily Santa slipped one under the tree for me.

EOS Egg, Lemon Drop
EOS Egg: I purchased one of these lip balms over the summer, but I misplaced it. So, I invested in a new one. It is a little egg shaped package that contains chapstick. I could see why the unique packaging makes it so popular. I got mine in the scent Lemon Drop, and it smells wonderful and works great too.

These are not the ones I got, but the same style
J.Crew Thermal Pajamas: A few Days after Christmas I went into the J.Crew store. I mostly go in their to see the styles, since they are a bit out of my price range. I went to the clearance section and fell in love with a pair of pink and red thermal pants. They were not too bad of a price, so I splurged on them. I have worn them every night since, they were a great purchase.

A timeless book
True Prep: A wonderful novel that was on my Christmas list this year. As part of my become a prep movement, I thought this book would be great help. I have yet to read it, but I look foward to. "The schools, The clothes, The cocktails, The clubs, Rehabs, Manners, What we do, What we eat, Where we go (and don't), And most importantly: What our dog really thinks".

Stripes

If you can't tell by the title of my blog, I am a lover of stripes. Most of my wardrobe consists of stripes. My love for stripes all sprouted after I watched the movie "Coco Before Chanel". I watched this movie about a year ago with my mom one night (the movie is in French with subtitles) and I loved it. I should plan to watch it again sometime because the details of the movie are fading from my mind. But, what struck me was one scene in particular. It was a scene where Coco went to the sea, she stood and watched the fisherman with amazement.
With anything she saw she pulled out inspiration for her fashion. What she pulled out from them? Stripes.

Shortly after I watched that, I was on a hunt for a striped shirt like Coco's. I finally found one at H&M. From that moment on almost everything I bought was striped. People at school comment on the fact that I can not go a day without wearing stripes. Stripes comfort me, they make me feel preppy, classy, like Coco.

Purpose

Hello world,

My name is Jackie. I always browse the internet for blogs I like and I thought why not make my own. I am 15 years old, so I am relatively young to know anything about anything. But, I know what I like and that is enough for me. I enjoy preppy clothes, shopping for bargains, playing sports, being a teenager, and of course navy stripes.
